Headed
by Aina Khan, we advise on all areas of family law. Whether or not you have made a firm
decision about the future of your relationship, seeking legal advice at
an early stage can often result in the resolution of immediate issues and
serve to clarify your future course.
Much
of our work involves the resolution of complex financial settlements.
One
area of special interest is the resolution of disputes over children,
including issues of custody, access and the problems which may arise when
children go to live permanently abroad with a parent. Our department head is accredited to
the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority’s Family and Child Panels. She also specialises in achieving solutions
using Shariah law principles in English Courts.
Overall,
our aim is always to try to reach a constructive, agreed settlement
wherever possible. However, where
proceedings become necessary, we pursue these vigorously and in a cost
effective manner.
The
matters in which we advise include the following:
·
Divorce and separation
·
Financial settlements
·
Residence and contact
·
Prenuptial and
postnuptial agreements
·
Cohabitation and
separation agreements
·
Trusts
·
Dissolution of civil
partnerships
